Memorial Day Weekend

I'm a little behind on the blog updates, but better late than never, right?! :) On Saturday we went down to the Rose Festival with some friends of ours whose kids are around the same age as ours. We went the first weekend it was open and we definitely got fantastic weather! First Kali got her face painted up all pretty. The face painting lady was a little overwhelming, in costume and in personality, so Kali wasn't too sure she really wanted to go through with it. But she did fine, but not without a cautious Kali eye watching her the whole time. After that, she went on to conquer the rides with her pal Avery. Surprised us! We weren't sure if we had the right child with us. ;) She's usually the cautious one, but not that day! What most surprised us is that she voluntarily went on a roller coaster ride too. That one kinda scared her, but steve went with her so she seemed fine for the most part. Avery and Kali did most of the rides together and we had a fun time hanging with friends. I knew I loved summer for a reason! Getting outside all the time!

Even Clara thought Kali's face paint was way cool. Next time, Clarebear!

Kali and Avery face the rides with matching faces!
Below, the girls wait in anticipation for their first ride....

And off they went!

But wait! More rides!!!

The BIG ROLLER COASTER....

Clara watched with the mom's, but she had fun too...

And of course, you couldn't go without having ice cream while at the Festival...

And yes...mom had fun...

And Dad had fun...

And even little sis' had fun...

Okay...so she was a little busy poking people...BUT, really...the girls had a blast, and the long nap they took when we got home was a day well spent in the parent's eyes. ;)
