Long absence

Well, between the holidays and really bad morning sickness our updates have been kinda far and few between.

We just finished a week of traveling to Medford and Corvalls to visit family and friends for the Christmas holiday. It was very busy, long, but well-worth trip....well, for those who didn't get sick. :) Kali got what we think was either car sickness or the stomach flu on our trip down in the car, which made for a fun trip for both Josh and Andrea (sorry guys!...hope we didn't scare off any future plans for kids!) Andrea...you past will flying colors in the parenting departement. She was our "cleaning lady" for Kali when she got sick. The rest of trip went a bit more smoothly for most members of the family. Steve was able to ski with his brothers, TJ and Josh and his long-time friend Jeff, while Kali had great fun playing with Pepper, Steve's parent's black lab. She was little timid at first, but finally at the end of the trip, she was telling Pepper "NO!" with a pointed finger, and "Go get it!" when Kali threw the ball for her. Our brave little Kali. I, of course, got the stomach flu over Christmas Eve, so I wasn't much fun for anyone that day. But we were always served REALLY good food (always delicious and abundant) by Cristina and were never kept hungry. That's what the holidays is all about, right?! Good food and family.

After our stay in Medford, we headed back up to Corvallis where we stayed with my parents for Christmas. Mom served up a delicious steak dinner that night (I was told at least...I was still sick) and we were able to just relax as Kali took over the house with all her new toys, terrorizing the cat, Geri, in the process. We tried to teach Kali that poking the cat in the face wasn't the best tactic to make friends with it. Needless to say, we didn't see the cat most of the time...she preferred the sanctuary of underneath the couch.

It was nice to get home, though, to our own beds. We were surprised our tree was still green when we got back since it hadn't been watered in a week! :) Tough little tree.

But, we just wanted to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone for all the thoughtful and nice gifts. It WAS a great Christmas and I'm sure a memorable one for Kali as well.
