Discovering Mt. Tabor

What can I say?! The sun and warmth have finally arrived...and the Wilcox Clan took advantage of it this past weekend. We spent the day hiking and discovering Mt. Tabor, near Hawthorne. It was beautiful and the views were spectacular. The first part of the hike really took the wind out of you. It was pretty steep. Kali did great, though she told me she was tired half way up and we both decided to take a break under the shade of an old maple tree. We couldn't keep that girl from picking every flower and soon we had a Hansel and Gretal trail of flowers. I had to give kudos to Steve on the hike since he packed Clara all the way up and it was in the 80's that day!

Miss Clara gave Steve pep talks and love pats on his back all the way up. Such a cheerleader! ;)

Once we got to the top, we had great views and stunning sceneries. Clara thought the grass and dirt were so exciting that she kept wanting to eat it. Fiesty Clara definitely made it known that she wasn't too thrilled that we were taking her "yummy" handfuls of dirt, grass, and sticks from her. Sorry Clara...you'll thank us later! ;) Kali, on the other hand, was drawn to climbing the trees and wanted poses taken of herself. Worked for me! :)

In the end, everyone survived and no dirt or grass was consumed. We had fun spending the day as a family and even topped off the day with Chuckie Cheese and pizza!
